Only 3 days to go now and I am starting to get a little bit excited. To give you a taster here are some photographs I took when we were there a couple of years ago. The top photo was taken looking across the lake to Zell am See, the bottom photo was taken in Strobl in the garden of a hotel we stayed at. I never got tired of looking at the view.

A LITTLE TASTER

Well, with just over a week to go before we go away on holiday, and the promised "Cake of the Day" feature I thought I would just temp you with some cakes from last year. Mmmmm

I had to put the top picture in because they were wrapped so beautifully, not just shoved in a box!

ENJOY!

ATC HOLDER

I am lucky enough to be a member of a great Team on UKScrappers website. Unfortunately one our lovely ladies has been going through a very stressful time of late and we wanted to give her something just to let her know that we are thinking of her. I didn't want to put the photos on until I knew she had received it, which she did today.

As I said the team members each made an ATC. On the top line - from L to R are mine, Kirsti and Tracey, bottom line from L to R are Terri, Jac and Joy.

I really enjoyed making the folder, especially when it was as a gift for someone special.

Thursday, 29 May 2008

Well, I have been really naughty today! I just couldn't resist buying another couple of the new Magnolia Tilda stamps.

These stamps, if you haven't heard of them before, are really big at the moment. Of course, I blame one of my team mates on UKScrappers for getting me hooked in the first place. Naming no names but I think you know who you are - Tracey - oops!

Anyway, I really shouldn't buy anything else this month unless it is for my holiday and I still need a pair of sandals. As my birthday falls while I am away I was going to have money off my DOH to spend whilst away then my car needed two new tyres so they are now my present, still I think I have actually made on that one as they were £70 each.

I am hoping the Basic Grey magnetic clasps will be there when I get home tonight so I can finish of an ATC folder I have made. No pictures of it yet, but will download them once I have sent it off to it's new home.

Holiday Countdown

Can't believe that in just over 3 weeks we will be in Austria again. It has come round so quickly and there are now just 3 weekends before we go - eeek! The beautiful chalet at the top of the page is where we are going to be staying and I just can't wait. We have decided to buy a Camcorder, something I have wanted for a long time, so this year we will be able to capture the beauty of Austria more easily as a still photograph just can't quite capture it. We have been going for many years now but never tire of it, from the moment I step off the plane it makes my spirits soar. We normally fly into Salzburg but are flying into Germany this year as the times are much better. My Partner will be taking his laptop away with him (for work) so I am hoping to get on every day - watch out for the "Cake of the Day" - they are very big on cakes in Austria and they eat them in style, there is nothing like it in this country. From the huge glass counters filled with every gateau imaginable to the waitresses in their national costume, the marble and the chandeliers it is another world. I can still remember two particular cakes I had last year - sad I know! and will definitely be having them again this year.

YET MORE CARDS

Now I have started uploading I can't stop, but I think that is enough for tonight.

CAKES

Well I have done the cats and the cards so here are the cakes!

I saw a card recently containing a stamped image of a woman sitting on a cake. At first I thought it was two separate images put together and then spent ages looking for the stamp! When I found the stamp and realised it wasn't just the cake I decided to draw one. Well, once I had drawn one I couldn't stop! but at least I have made 3 cards using some of the cakes. I used the Cuttlebug embossing folders for the Tag and the two circles and the Wizard scallop circle dies. The flowers on the top card are a Penny Black stamp. The dotty paper was a free download and the "Celebrate" was cut using my Cricut.
